Lance Johnson Jr. '28, a freshman pre-CTEMS (Cinema, Television, and Emerging Media Studies) major, is already making waves at Morehouse College. Hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, Lance is a true legacy student, with both his parents having graduated from Morehouse College and Spelman College. His decision to follow in his father’s footsteps was driven by the rich history, strong community, and enduring brotherhood of Morehouse, embodying the spirit of excellence that the College is known for.
A Legacy of Excellence and Leadership
In high school, Lance distinguished himself not only academically but also through a diverse range of extracurricular activities. As president of his gospel choir, he showcased his leadership skills and passion for music. His vocal talents earned him spots in prestigious choirs, including the All-State Choir, ACDA Honor Choir, Region Choir, and District Honor Choir. These experiences not only honed his musical abilities but also instilled in him a deep appreciation for collaboration and harmony.
Lance’s talents extend beyond music. He was a dedicated athlete, playing varsity tennis for six years and serving as team captain. His leadership on the tennis court and his commitment to excellence were evident in his performance and dedication to his team.
Continuing Passions at Morehouse
At Morehouse, Lance plans to pursue his passions for music and tennis by joining the renowned Morehouse College Glee Club and the Maroon Tiger Tennis Team.
