Four accomplished Morehouse College students—George Lester III ’24, Gera Baano-Stewart II ’23, Porter Tynes III ’24, and Osco Williams III ’25—have been selected to participate in Harvard Business School’s renowned Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP) in Boston, Massachusetts. These young leaders have been recognized for their academic excellence, leadership skills, and commitment to making a positive impact both on and off campus.
The Summer Venture in Management Program is a highly selective, one-week residential experience designed to introduce diverse, high-potential college students to the world of business education. Through rigorous coursework, case studies, and leadership training, SVMP provides participants with a glimpse into what it's like to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School. The program aims to increase diversity in business by equipping future leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the corporate world.
The selection of these four young men for such a competitive program is a testament to their outstanding contributions to Morehouse College and their respective communities. Each has demonstrated academic prowess, leadership, and a dedication to service that aligns with the core values of both Morehouse and Harvard.
Participating in SVMP will provide these students with the opportunity to connect with some of the brightest minds in business and gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities that come with leading in a global economy. The experience will also strengthen their preparation for future careers in business, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
Morehouse College is proud to see its students continue to be recognized on a national stage for their academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to driving positive change. The participation of Lester, Baano-Stewart, Tynes, and Williams in Harvard’s SVMP is a reflection of their hard work, and we look forward to seeing how they will leverage this experience to further their goals and make an even greater impact in the world.
As these young men prepare to join the ranks of tomorrow’s business leaders, they exemplify the values of a Morehouse education: leadership, service, and excellence.
