The bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College is among the five best HBCUs in Georgia, according to rankings from University Headquarters. Other institutions in the top five are Georgia Tech, Emory University, the University of Georgia, and Mercer University. Morehouse is the only HBCU in the top 15.
University Headquarters ranked more than 4,000 colleges using government and other public information to form “an objective and unbiased view of colleges so that students can set reasonable expectations, discover outstanding schools, and embark on a path toward their best lives,” according to the organization. Rankings were based on 11 factors, including the graduating salary, reputation and expert opinion, number of programs offered including online programs, retention rate, graduation rate, loan default rate, and the percentage of students receiving financial aid, among other areas of analysis.
The University Headquarters recognition comes on the heels of other rankings from other organizations which have highlighted the value of a Morehouse education, including the American Council of Trustees and Alumni (ACTA) which rated the Morehouse core curriculum #1 among HBCUs nationwide. Morehouse was the only HBCU nationally and one of three Georgia institutions among just 2.1% of colleges to earn an “A” evaluation in the ACTA report. Morehouse is also ranked in the top five HBCUs nationally, according to U.S. News and World Report.
