At Morehouse College, our students inspire us daily with their brilliance, creativity, and commitment to excellence. Among them is Amare Williams, a standout member of the Class of 2027. A proud Oprah Winfrey Scholar, Amare is a Biology major and Spanish minor from Queens, New York, charting a path toward his dream of becoming a neurosurgeon.

But Amare’s talents don’t stop at science and academics—his artistic gifts have transformed our campus in the most vibrant ways.

Amare’s creativity shines through the stunning murals he’s brought to life on campus. His first mural was commissioned by Ms. Tina Thompson at the Counseling Services Center. Recognizing his artistic talents, Ms. Thompson invited Amare to bring color, expression, and positivity to the center’s walls. The mural has since become a symbol of support, healing, and inspiration for the Morehouse community.

“Art is my way of expressing myself and creating spaces where others can feel seen, valued, and uplifted,” Amare shares.

What sets Morehouse apart, Amare says, is the sense of brotherhood and family that can’t quite be replicated anywhere else. “The bond we share here is special—it’s something I carry with me in everything I do,” he adds. This sense of connection is evident in Amare’s contributions to the campus, whether in the classroom, through his art, or within the broader Morehouse community.

We’re excited to see where Amare’s passions and hard work take him next—and we’re grateful for the color and inspiration he brings to our campus!
