The Morehouse College Golf Team has made history once again—this time gracing the cover of Golf Georgia magazine. The feature spotlights the team’s impressive strides in collegiate golf and celebrates the visionary leadership of Head Coach Edgar Evans, who has elevated the program's profile both regionally and nationally.

Known for their discipline on the green and academic achievement in the classroom, the student-athletes of the Morehouse Golf Team continue to break barriers and challenge long-standing narratives around diversity and representation in golf. With precision, poise, and purpose, these young men are not only competing at a high level but also expanding the visibility of HBCU athletic programs in a traditionally exclusive sport.

Coach Evans, a proud Morehouse alumnus, has been instrumental in shaping the team’s success and fostering a culture rooted in focus, leadership, and academic excellence. Under his guidance, the program recently reached another milestone by adding an indoor golf simulator to campus. This state-of-the-art training tool provides players with year-round access to elite-level practice, helping sharpen their skills and prepare them for national competition.

“Our goal has always been to raise the standard and show what’s possible when you invest in student-athletes who embody the values of Morehouse,” said Coach Evans. “This recognition is a reflection of our commitment—not just to winning, but to growing the game and ensuring our young men are prepared for excellence in all areas of life.”

The cover story in Golf Georgia is more than a celebration—it’s a signal. The Morehouse Golf Team is here, they’re rising, and they’re ready to change the face of the sport.
