Morehouse College senior Rece Allen is making waves in the sports industry through his participation in the prestigious Atlanta Falcons HBCU Fellowship Program. As a Brand Communications Fellow during the fall semester of his senior year, Rece immersed himself in the world of professional sports communications, gaining hands-on experience and building connections that will last a lifetime.

Under the guidance of Emilie Leveille, Heather Sautter, and Jason Kirksey, Rece contributed significantly to the Atlanta Falcons’ communications department. From updating media lists and creating detailed technology recaps to coordinating on-air interviews, media tours, and events, Rece was at the forefront of pivotal projects that enhanced his knowledge of the industry. His contributions didn’t stop there—he also participated in professional development sessions and collaborated on a business proposal addressing an active organizational challenge.

Reflecting on his time with the Falcons, Rece shared, “I loved every second of working with the communications department and interacting with the team on a day-to-day basis. The connections that I built and lessons I learned there are ones I intend to keep with me forever.”

Rece’s dedication and enthusiasm earned him the opportunity to appear on Fox 5 Atlanta alongside his cohort fellow Avery Butler, AMBSE Chief DEI Officer Latonda Henderson, and Wells Fargo Senior Vice President for Philanthropy and Community Impact Tai Roberson. On-air, Rece discussed the program’s impact on his career and the unique opportunities it provides to HBCU students.

The Falcons HBCU Fellowship Program also took Rece and his cohort on a transformative trip to New York City, where they visited the Wells Fargo Headquarters and the NFL League Office. The experience provided invaluable networking opportunities with industry leaders and gave fellows a behind-the-scenes look at operations at the highest level of the sports and finance industries.

“The trip to New York was truly amazing,” said Rece. “Being able to connect with people in leadership roles and experience both headquarters alongside my cohort was unforgettable.”

As Rece Allen prepares to graduate, his accomplishments as a Brand Communications Fellow serve as an inspiration to his peers and a reminder of the incredible potential of HBCU students. Morehouse College celebrates his achievements and looks forward to witnessing his continued success.
