The Business and Economics Division at Morehouse College is expanding opportunities for students and Atlanta-based entrepreneurs through a strategic partnership with the University of Notre Dame’s Urban Poverty and Business Initiative (UPBI), housed within the Keough School of Global Affairs. With new support from The Coca-Cola Company in North America tied to FIFA World Cup 26™ legacy investments, the division is expanding programs that equip students with the skills, mentorship, and resources needed to launch sustainable businesses and succeed in a global economy.
The Business and Economics Division, which prepares students to lead global commerce, multinational corporations, and next-generation entrepreneurial endeavors, will benefit directly from this investment. Expanded resources will provide students and Atlanta-based entrepreneurs with access to business training, mentorship, educational programming, and job creation opportunities. These initiatives will help students and local entrepreneurs launch sustainable businesses and gain the skills needed to succeed in an increasingly global and competitive economy.
“Through STEEM, we are expanding access to entrepreneurial education and economic agency. The program prepares students and community participants to lead, innovate, and create economic mobility where it is needed most,” said Dr. SherRhonda Gibbs, Dean of the Business and Economics Division.
Coca-Cola in North America is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for communities by supporting local colleges and universities, advancing equitable access to opportunity, and driving economic inclusion. Through its community programs, Coca-Cola is investing in the next generation by fostering skills, confidence, and teamwork, helping youth and students unlock their potential and make lasting contributions to their communities.
Through UPBI, the Business and Economics division at Morehouse is collaborating with local and national partners to design programs that respond to the specific needs of Atlanta’s community while preparing students to lead with impact. This expanded support allows the institution to grow its entrepreneurship initiatives and increase its impact in Atlanta, aligning with a broader FIFA World Cup 26™–related economic development effort.
By leveraging these resources, the Business and Economics division is empowering students and entrepreneurs alike, creating opportunities that foster leadership, innovation, and economic growth, while building a legacy of connection and inclusion for years to come.
