As Morehouse College welcomes the Class of 2028, we're proud to introduce one of our distinguished freshmen, William McConico II. Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, William is an English major on the pre-law track, ready to carry forward a legacy of academic excellence and leadership.
For William, Morehouse College has always been more than just a name. As a legacy student, he was introduced to the rich traditions and values of Morehouse through his father, William McConico ’95. Inspired by his father's journey, William has charted his own path of success and determination.
William's high school years at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School were marked by impressive academic achievements. His dedication to learning earned him membership in the National Honor Society and Summa Cum Laude honors upon graduation. These accomplishments, coupled with his leadership as co-president of the Black Awareness Society for Education and captain of the mock trial team, helped him secure the prestigious Benjamin Elijah Mays Presidential Leadership Scholarship—a full-ride scholarship that recognizes his potential as a future leader.
At Morehouse, William is eager to continue his pursuit of a legal career. He plans to join the pre-law society, where he will hone his skills, expand his network, and prepare for the challenges ahead. With his passion for justice and his commitment to excellence, William McConico II is sure to make a significant impact at Morehouse and beyond.
Welcome to the House, William!
