O’Rell Roberts ’26, a psychology graduate from San Bernardino, California, leaves Morehouse College as one of the institution’s highest-achieving scholars, earning the distinction of Co-Salutatorian for the Class of 2026.
Throughout his time at Morehouse, O’Rell distinguished himself both inside and outside the classroom. A Ronald E. McNair Scholar, Social Justice Scholar with the Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership, and member of Phi Beta Kappa and the Psi Chi International Honor Society in Psychology, he consistently demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and service. He also served as a New Student Orientation leader and treasurer of the Morehouse College Association of Black Psychologists.
Among the most transformative experiences of his Morehouse journey was his participation in the Social Justice Scholars Program, where he explored global and domestic justice issues and examined the role of psychology in advancing liberation and social change. His studies of civil rights and conflict in Ireland further shaped his understanding of identity, justice, and community.
As a Morehouse alumnus, O’Rell’s legacy is one of intellectual curiosity, scholarship, and purpose-driven leadership. Following graduation, he plans to pursue certification in horticultural therapy, deepening his work in creating restorative spaces for individuals in recovery and marginalized communities.
