February 3, 2026Written by: Morehouse College
Adeyemi Mitchell ’28 is already making his mark at the intersection of business, marketing, and the global music industry. A Business Administration and Marketing major at Morehouse College, Adeyemi is building an impressive professional portfolio as a Student Marketing Representative at Sony Music and a Grammy U Lead Ambassador, roles that recently placed him at the center of one of the music industry’s most prestigious weeks.

Recently, Adeyemi served as a Team Lead for the MusiCares Person of the Year event while also volunteering across multiple Recording Academy Grammy Week initiatives. These high-profile, large-scale productions offered him a behind-the-scenes look at how world-class events are planned, managed, and executed. Working alongside industry professionals and executives, Adeyemi gained firsthand exposure to the coordination, precision, and leadership required to deliver moments that captivate global audiences.
The experience proved transformational. Leading teams under pressure sharpened Adeyemi’s leadership skills, reinforced the value of collaboration, and deepened his appreciation for the unseen work that brings major productions to life. More importantly, it affirmed the relevance of his academic training at Morehouse, as classroom lessons in marketing, strategy, and organizational leadership came alive in real time.
Adeyemi credits much of his growth during the experience to mentorship and trust from industry leaders, extending special thanks to Michelle Travers for her guidance and confidence in his leadership. As he continues his journey at Morehouse, Adeyemi exemplifies how students can leverage academic excellence, professional engagement, and experiential learning to create pathways into competitive global industries.
