In Fortune’s directorial debut, a devoted father named Lucky (William Catlett), following the passing of his wife, learns to raise his son with Down Syndrome, Mason (Jeremiah Daniels), as a single parent. Fortune first developed and workshopped this film as part of the Film Independent Amplifier Fellowship funded by Netflix. Following that program, he successfully pitched AT&T Untold Stories at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival, for which he received the $1 million prize and year-round mentorship to turn his idea into a feature-length film.

Color Book is a heartfelt story about love, family, and the communities we come from. I’m truly excited for audiences around the world to experience this emotional journey on Netflix and connect with these characters in a real and meaningful way,” Fortune shared.

Two Lewis, Naturi Naughton, Tyler Edgarton, Korstiaan Vandiver serve as executive producers of the film. Proucers include Kiah Alexandria Clingman, Kristen Uno, Autumn Bailey-Ford (On A Wing And A Prayer, Tulsa). Christopher Escobar and Saleah Smith co-produce.
