    DR. MICHAEL JANIS PUBLISHES ESSAY  “AFRICAN SCARIFICATION AND SLAVERY: FROM ANTHROPOLOGY TO ALLEGORY.”

    Morehouse College proudly announces the publication of an insightful new essay by Dr. Michael Janis, Professor of English. Titled "African Scarification and Slavery: From Anthropology to Allegory," Dr. Janis’s essay is featured in Fictional Worlds and the Political Imagination, published by Palgrave Macmillan Press.

    By bridging anthropology and literary analysis, the essay provides a nuanced perspective on how these cultural markers are reinterpreted in storytelling, resonating across disciplines from anthropology and history to literature and cultural studies.
