    DR. MICHAEL JANIS PUBLISHES ESSAY  “AFRICAN SCARIFICATION AND SLAVERY: FROM ANTHROPOLOGY TO ALLEGORY.”

    Morehouse College proudly announces the publication of an insightful new essay by Dr. Michael Janis, Professor of English. Titled "African Scarification and Slavery: From Anthropology to Allegory," Dr. Janis’s essay is featured in Fictional Worlds and the Political Imagination, published by Palgrave Macmillan Press.

    By bridging anthropology and literary analysis, the essay provides a nuanced perspective on how these cultural markers are reinterpreted in storytelling, resonating across disciplines from anthropology and history to literature and cultural studies.

    Fictional Worlds and the Political Imagination, edited by Garry Hagberg, is a collection of essays that explores how literature shapes and reflects political ideologies, identities, and movements.
