ATLANTA—Morehouse College announced today that application fees will be waived from October 11-15, 2021 for high school students who apply for residential fall 2022 enrollment. Students must apply on the Morehouse College website. Students who apply by November 1 for early consideration can expect to receive a decision by December 15.
"We want every brilliant young man of color to consider becoming part of the Morehouse legacy, regardless of their economic background, so we are very pleased to extend the Free Application Week offer to encourage their application," said T.J. Snowden, Ed.D., director of admissions and recruitment for Morehouse College. "We are committed to creating better access for navigating the college application process. Whether it is a free application, advising through our virtual reality campus touring platform, exposing students to our impressive alumni, or offering more than 300 scholarships based on need and merit, the College stands ready to ensure the most talented, prospective students grow as scholarly leaders in a learning environment that embraces and celebrates the experiences and potential of Black men."
This fall, Morehouse College welcomed the largest group of new students on record – a group of 973 new students, including 637 first-time freshmen, 64 transfer students, and the inaugural class of 272 non-traditional men in Morehouse's online degree completion program. The fall 2021 first-time freshman class of traditional students represents an increasingly selective cadre, with an average grade point average (GPA) of 3.51 and an average ACT composite score average of 23. This year, the submission of SAT and ACT scores is optional for fall 2022 prospective first-time freshmen applicants.
Students interested in touring the highly ranked, historically Black college can schedule an in-person visit through the College's admissions office or they can participate in the new 3D, fully interactive, personally guided, online tour option for those who may not be able to visit the campus in Atlanta. The virtual tour removes the potential financial or geographical inhibitors that could deter a prospective student's journey to the College and allows them to have a tailored tour experience from the comfort of their own home.
To access the Free Application offer, students must apply on the Morehouse College website at morehouse.edu/free-apply. For more information about Morehouse College Admissions, visit morehouse.edu/admissions.
