Jalen Norton aka Jalen Chords is a R&B recording artist from Hampton Virginia and also is a class of 2023 alum. Jalen began pursuing music seriously earlier this year in February, but his rise has been anything but accidental. He’s poured countless hours into perfecting his craft, often when no one else was watching. That discipline and dedication is rooted in a personal commitment to excellence, one he honed as a student and brother on the campus of Morehouse College. While in school, Jalen joined the prestigious fraternity Omega Psi Phi, gaining a brotherhood that continues to uplift and inspire him.
His sound—smooth, soulful, and full of emotion—reflects his deep love for R&B and his drive to represent his home state at the highest level. Jalen takes pride in coming from Virginia, home to musical giants like Pharrell Williams, Missy Elliott, and Chris Brown. His ambition? To one day stand alongside them as one of the greats to emerge from the Commonwealth. Jalen was recently signed to Cash Money / Republic Records and has released his first major music video.
As he steps into this new chapter, Jalen embodies what passion, consistency, and a Morehouse Man’s determination can achieve. The world is starting to pay attention, and this is just the beginning.
