Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival and BMRI Host Community Film Screening Centered on "Black Men Trust Black Women" Campaign

    February 25, 2026

On Friday, February 27, SisterSong, BLD PWR, the Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival and the Morehouse College Black Men’s Research Institute will host a powerful screening and conversation centered on Black Men Trust Black Women, a culture-shifting campaign led by SisterSong in partnership with Bld Pwr. Anchored by a filmed roundtable featuring prominent cultural leaders, artists, activists, and influencers, this project invites Black men into deeper engagement with Reproductive Justice through trust, accountability, and collective healing.

Following the screening, there will be a facilitated community discussion inviting attendees to reflect on the themes of the roundtable and consider how these insights can spark healing conversations in our own circles. This event is part of a broader campaign and discussion toolkit designed to encourage peer-led dialogue and reimagine Black men’s participation in the Reproductive Justice movement.

As Black History Month comes to a close, this gathering offers students and the broader Atlanta community a timely opportunity to witness Black men modeling vulnerability, accountability, and growth in real time. Through honest and necessary dialogue, the Roundtable explores how Black men can educate one another, confront harmful narratives, navigate emotional triggers, and build deeper solidarity with Black women and their communities.

The evening will invite reflection and discussion on what it looks like for Black men to show up with courage, for themselves, for Black women, and for the collective future of Black communities.

Confirmed participants include SisterSong’s Executive Director, Monica Simpson, actor and Founder and President of BLD PWR Kendrick Sampson, content creator Joseph Irvin, award-winning actor Clifton Powell, and recording artist Euro-Got-It. Additional roundtable participants may join.

This event is presented in partnership with the Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival, founded in 2019 to advance the College’s commitment to equality and social justice, and the Black Men’s Research Institute (BMRI), a leading initiative focused on the economic, social, cultural, and personal outcomes affecting Black men.
