Mario Wells ’26 is a psychology graduate with a minor in educational studies from Sugar Hill, Georgia. As Co-Salutatorian of the Class of 2026, Mario distinguished himself through a commitment to academic excellence, research, and leadership.
During his time at Morehouse, he earned Dean’s List recognition. He received second-place honors at both the 27th Annual AUC Psychology Research Symposium and the Second Annual Summer Undergraduate Research Expo. He further expanded his research experience through competitive summer programs at the University of Georgia and the Florida State University–American Psychological Association Summer Scholars Program.
A member of the Oprah Winfrey Scholars Program, Psi Chi International Honor Society, and the STEM Identity and Black Male Achievement Program, Mario embraced opportunities that challenged him to grow as both a scholar and a leader. He also served as co-president of the MCEE Literary Society, helping foster intellectual engagement and community among his peers.
Mario credits the Oprah Winfrey Scholars Program as a transformative part of his Morehouse experience, shaping his character, strengthening his commitment to service, and deepening his understanding of intentional leadership.
Now a Morehouse alumnus, Mario leaves The House with a legacy defined by scholarship, curiosity, and purpose. This fall, he will continue his academic journey as a master's student in psychology at New York University.
