This semester, 50 students at Morehouse College took part in the Morehouse Finance Academy (MFA), a program dedicated to equipping students with fundamental financial knowledge and hands-on experience in financial modeling and finance. Through the direct support and mentorship of Centerview Partners, MFA participants gained invaluable insights into the complexities of the financial industry, setting the foundation for successful careers in finance.
The MFA continues to be a cornerstone of the College’s mission to develop future leaders, providing students with practical skills that will benefit them in a range of industries. By working closely with industry professionals and engaging in real-world financial analysis, students build both the confidence and expertise necessary to excel in finance.
In addition to the MFA, Morehouse College recently welcomed representatives from UNCF Project Acclaim to kick off the initiation of a newly funded Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF). This exciting opportunity will allow selected students to manage a $4 million investment portfolio while participating in a two-semester course in asset management.
Project Acclaim offers an unparalleled experience for students to gain real-world asset management experience, learning to navigate the challenges of portfolio management and investment strategy. With direct exposure to the financial markets, participants will sharpen their analytical skills, deepen their understanding of investment principles, and enhance their career prospects in asset management, finance, and beyond.
