For more than 150 years, Morehouse College has cultivated a legacy of excellence, producing influential alumni such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., filmmaker Spike Lee, and former Atlanta mayor Maynard Jackson. Now, that legacy continues with the College’s 13th president, Dr. F. DuBois Bowman.

A nationally recognized biostatistician and public health leader, Dr. Bowman most recently served as dean of the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He returns to Morehouse—his alma mater—with a bold vision for the future of Black men in higher education.

“I arrived really curious, eager, anxious, nervous—but really, really excited to begin the college journey,” Bowman recalled of his first days at Morehouse. Though he didn’t initially envision a career in academic leadership, his path has come full circle.
