    George Bandy 90' Named to BUILDER 100 List & re-Elected Board Chair for the Green Business Certification Inc.

    Sustainability Executive George Bandy '90 was recently named to the Builder 100 list from Builder Magazine for his outstanding ascendant work in the sector.99cf865bc0c6a8cb8e86e320

    Bandy recently joined the Andersen team as the company’s first-ever Chief Sustainability Officer. He has more than 25 years of experience in the sustainability field and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise. 
     
    Prior to joining the Andersen team, he led leading companies on their journey toward a sustainable future, namely Interface, Amazon, Mohawk, and Darling Fibers. He is currently the chairman of the board at Green Business Certification Inc., board member for International Interior Design Association Foundation, the Cradle to Cradle board of directors and serves on the Trane Technologies Advisory Council for Sustainability. He formerly served as Chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and lifelong advocate for health wellness and equity in the built environment.

    A native of Opelika, Alabama, Bandy received a bachelor's degree from Morehouse College. He was an English major and became interested in sustainability after learning about systems thinking at a Natural Step Conference in 1993. George also holds the LEED Accredited Professional credential from USGBC/GBCI. In 2018, he was a USGBC Leadership Award recipient for his tireless commitment to the green building movement and has been honored with the inaugural Green Step People Award.  In 2020, he was recognized as a Living Future Hero.
