50 Men of Morehouse Take Their Impact Beyond the Classroom with “Get on the Bus” Philadelphia
March 20, 2025Written by: Morehouse College
For 50 young men at Morehouse College, spring break wasn’t about relaxation—it was about purpose, impact, and transformation. Through the “Get on the Bus” Philadelphia initiative, these students took their leadership beyond the classroom, traveling to the City of Brotherly Love to empower, uplift, and inspire the next generation.
Morehouse College has always stood at the forefront of developing young Black men into leaders, scholars, and change agents. This spring, our students extended that mission beyond Atlanta, stepping into Philadelphia high schools to mentor and motivate young men on their educational journeys.
Through workshops, one-on-one conversations, and school visits, they shared their stories of resilience, ambition, and the transformative power of education. Their message was clear: higher education is not just a possibility but a pathway to limitless opportunities.
Their dedication did not go unnoticed. The 50 Men of Morehouse were officially recognized by the Philadelphia City Council, receiving citations for their commitment to mentorship and community impact. Their leadership also caught the attention of local media, earning them a special appearance on Good Day Philadelphia.
These acknowledgments highlight the far-reaching influence of Morehouse College and its students, reinforcing the importance of Black male educators, mentors, and role models in shaping the future.
“Get on the Bus” is not just a program—it’s a movement, designed to bridge gaps, spark dreams, and create a pipeline of success for young Black men. By bringing the spirit of Morehouse to Philadelphia, these students left an indelible mark on the city’s youth, proving that representation matters and that education remains a powerful tool for change.
This journey wasn’t about the miles traveled—it was about the lives impacted. The seeds planted during this trip will continue to grow, inspiring young men in Philadelphia to see themselves as future leaders, scholars, and Morehouse Men.
