The Historic Rededication of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel and the Convening of the 37th Annual College of Ministers & Laity

    October 4, 2022

Join Morehouse College on October 12-13, 2022 for a series of commemorative programs celebrating the rededication of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel, the world's most prominent religious memorial honoring the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. '48 and his Black social gospel justice ministry. The rededication follows an $11 million renovation of the historic building, which was built in 1978. The theme for this momentous occasion is "Saving Democracy While Thriving in the Wake of Cosmic Trauma."

Festivities will include a symposium of sessions led by distinguished Morehouse College professors and scholars from across the nation, as well as a host of special guests including Ambassador Andrew J. Young and Rev. Al Sharpton Jr.

For a complete listing of sessions, please see the schedule here. For questions on the event programming, email the Chapel team at kingchapel@morehouse.edu
