    Kimarley Henry’s '24 Short Film "Chad’s Night Out" Nominated for Best Animated Film at the Liberia Film Awards

    Kimarley Henry, a recent Class of 2024 alum, has achieved remarkable success with his short film adaptation, “Chad’s Night Out.” This animated short has been selected for the Best Animated Film category at the prestigious Liberia Film Awards.

    Kimarley’s journey with “Chad” began in 2014 during a seventh-grade science class, where his sketches gave birth to the “Chad” comic series. Chronicling both the mundane and the absurd adventures of its title character, the comic quickly gained popularity. By 2019, “Chad” was a staple in local newspapers, with over 400 strips published to date.

    The Liberia Film Awards, through the Journey Home Film Festival, celebrate the richness of Liberian and African filmmaking annually in Monrovia, Liberia. The festival showcases a diverse array of cinematic works, including feature-length films, shorts, documentaries, animations, and experimental pieces. Being nominated for Best Animated Film is a testament to Kimarley’s exceptional talent and creativity in the field of animation.
