Dear Morehouse Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Supporters -
It is with profound gratitude and immense joy that I greet you today as the 13th President of Morehouse College. Returning home to serve this sacred institution that shaped me as a man and a scholar is among the greatest honors of my life. Morehouse is the institution that anchored my commitment to lead with purpose, to challenge convention, and to serve with integrity. I am humbled and eager to walk this next chapter of our journey together.

Over the coming weeks and months, I look forward to connecting with many of you across campus and beyond. A series of listening and learning sessions will soon be underway, offering opportunities to meet, greet, and engage in honest dialogue about where we are as an institution, and where we must go. Your voices will be vital as we approach the final year of our current strategic plan and lay the groundwork for Morehouse’s next era of progress and impact.
Our College holds a unique and influential role in American higher education and, with it, a responsibility to aid in shaping the future of our world. I am energized by the legacy we have inherited, and I am committed to advancing a bold vision that honors our past, reflects our present values, and accelerates our progress for a more prosperous future.
I have been extremely heartened by my warm welcome back to “The House.” I look forward to working with each of you in this new chapter, united by purpose, driven by our mission, and inspired by the possibilities ahead.
