    Professor Maria Korol’s Art Takes Center Stage in New York, Kentucky, and Italy

    Morehouse College is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Professor Maria Korol, Chair of the Visual Arts Department and Assistant Professor, whose work continues to gain recognition on both national and international stages.

    Professor Korol’s artwork has been included in group exhibitions at both Blue Mountain Gallery and Field Projects in New York, NY. These prestigious galleries are known for showcasing innovative and thought-provoking contemporary art, making this an exciting milestone in her career.

    One of the highlights of the year for Professor Korol is her solo exhibition, "Tierra adentro (Hinterland)," at Institute 193 in Lexington, KY. Running from February 28 to April 12, 2025, this exhibition presents a compelling body of work that reflects her unique artistic vision.

    Institute 193 is renowned for supporting contemporary artists outside of major metropolitan centers, providing a platform for creators from Kentucky and the Southeastern U.S. to gain broader visibility through exhibitions and publications. Professor Korol’s participation underscores her commitment to engaging with regional narratives and expanding the reach of contemporary visual arts.

    Further cementing her global presence, Professor Korol has artwork featured in "Conflicting Feelings" at the Contemporary Cluster Gallery in Rome, Italy. This exhibition explores the complexities of human emotion through diverse artistic perspectives, positioning her work within an international dialogue of contemporary expression.

    Professor Maria Korol’s artistic journey continues to inspire students and colleagues alike. Her exhibitions across the United States and Europe reflect not only her talent but also the dynamic and evolving role of art in cultural and intellectual discourse.
