Seventeen Morehouse Students Embark on International Spring Tour to Argentina and Brazil
April 6, 2026Written by: Morehouse College
Seventeen students are expanding their global perspective this year as part of Morehouse College's 37th Annual International Spring Tour, with immersive experiences in Buenos Aires and Salvador.

The annual tour, a hallmark of the Morehouse commitment to global education, offers students the opportunity to engage firsthand with international leaders, institutions, and communities across diverse cultural and economic landscapes. This year’s cohort stepped into spaces where business, diplomacy, and culture intersect, gaining insight into how leadership operates on a global stage.
In Buenos Aires, students connected with senior leaders at global companies such as Citibank, where they explored the organization’s operations in Argentina and examined the complexities of international finance in a dynamic economic environment. These conversations provided not only technical knowledge but also a broader understanding of how global institutions adapt to regional challenges and opportunities.
Beyond the corporate sphere, students also engaged with representatives from the United States Embassy, gaining valuable perspective on diplomacy, international relations, and the role of the United States in fostering global partnerships. These interactions reinforced the importance of cultural fluency, strategic thinking, and service-driven leadership in an increasingly interconnected world.
In Salvador, Brazil, students experienced the richness of Afro-Brazilian culture, history, and community, deepening their understanding of the African diaspora and its global influence. The contrast between economic systems, cultural traditions, and social structures across both देशों offered students a multidimensional view of global society, one that cannot be replicated in a classroom alone.
This transformative experience was made possible through the vision and leadership of Executive Director Douglas Cooper, whose commitment to international education continues to open doors for Morehouse students. The cohort was also guided by a dedicated team of advisors, including Jasmine Gurley, Nije Capri Lane, Dr. Denise Callejas, Dr. Tiffany Bussey; and Miles Stevens, whose mentorship and insight helped students navigate and maximize every moment of the journey.
As the students return to campus, they bring with them more than memories. They carry new perspectives, sharpened leadership skills, and a deeper sense of responsibility as global citizens. The International Spring Tour remains a powerful testament to Morehouse College’s mission: to prepare men not only to lead in their communities, but to make meaningful impact across the world.
