The special issue showcases six selected papers from the 2025 Morehouse Social Justice and Social Entrepreneurship Symposium, an event that convened thought leaders, researchers, and practitioners to examine how entrepreneurship can serve as a catalyst for equity and societal change.

The collection addresses some of the most pressing conversations at the intersection of entrepreneurship, equity, and impact. Featured topics include:

    • Measuring well-being in social enterprises and assessing their broader societal outcomes.

    • The importance of entrepreneurial education and competencies in advancing women entrepreneurs.

    • How psychological capital and socioeconomic mobility shape entrepreneurial traits.

    • The resourcefulness of women-led small-scale enterprises navigating systemic challenges.

    • The role of strategic alliances between corporations and social entrepreneurs.

    • Emerging implications of artificial intelligence for Black entrepreneurship.

By curating these contributions, Dr. Gibbs and her co-editors have helped advance both scholarship and practice. The issue offers timely insights for entrepreneurs, educators, policymakers, and ecosystem builders dedicated to fostering innovation that serves the public good.

Through her leadership, Dr. Gibbs continues to champion the integration of business education with a mission for equity, aligning with Morehouse College’s long-standing legacy of preparing leaders to change the world.
