Morehouse Welcomes New Lactation Station to Campus

    December 2, 2024

In an exciting step toward fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment, Morehouse College has officially opened its first Lactation Station! This new space, located in the break room of Gloster Hall, provides a private, comfortable, and secure area for nursing mothers who work at or visit the College.

The Lactation Station is part of Morehouse's ongoing commitment to supporting the needs of its diverse community, particularly working parents and caregivers. Designed in partnership with Cigna Healthcare and Mamava, this initiative addresses an essential need, ensuring that new mothers have a dedicated space to breastfeed or pump with dignity and convenience.

The Lactation Station in Gloster Hall is equipped with all the essentials to make nursing mothers feel comfortable and at ease. This includes a private, lockable pod designed for safety and comfort.

At Morehouse, we recognize that creating a supportive campus is about meeting the needs of everyone who steps through our doors. This new Lactation Station is a testament to the College's commitment to being a space where family life and professional excellence can coexist.

If you’re a nursing mom visiting or working at Morehouse, the Lactation Station is here to serve you. We encourage our community to share this resource with those who may benefit from it.
